The Superior Technical School of Telecommunications Engineering (ETSIT) is the former school for the training of Telecommunications Engineers in Spain. The School actively contributes to the generation and transfer of technological knowledge through research and innovation in a multidisciplinary and multicultural context. It is focused in the area of Information and Communications Technologies, both in its technological and socioeconomic aspects.
ETSIT is part of the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM) witch is ranked nowadays, among the top five European universities in its fields.
The CTB is a research and technology center of the Polytechnic University of Madrid. It brings together researchers from different disciplines in cooperation with other external Institutions, in order to:
• Address major challenges that scientists are facing today and whose success requires a stable and interdisciplinary collaboration, including both basic and transnational research.
• Facilitate the development of new technologies to be handed over to industry.
• Create an environment conductive to the training of new researchers and professionals in the different fields.
With an investment of 590 million euros, CEI is a new concept, focused on Universities and their interaction with research centers, technology centers and other agents for the development of research and innovation, targeting to create high quality and performance of services and improvements for the industry in particular with a high consideration of environmental sustainability.
